Birth Certificate Apostille
A Birth Certificate is issued by either a Register Office (within the 6 weeks following birth) or the General Register Office (as a Certified Copy) and contains details on the Birth in question.
The apostille itself can only be placed on an original Birth Certificate. The only copy that is acceptable is a Certified Copy provided by the General Register Office. it is impossible to apostille a photocopy - even if it has been certified by a solicitor.
